Pre-Symposium Technical Workshop

The workshop will present an overview of state-of-the-art nondestructive testing and evaluation technologies for wood structure inspections, include live demonstration of NDT tools, and illustrate their practical application through recent inspection cases of historic wooden ships. It will be a one-day event held on May 19, 2026. The morning session will include several hours of classroom introduction covering modern inspection methods, NDT tools, and relevant case studies. After lunch, participants will enjoy an engaging afternoon of hands-on demonstrations and a tour of the historic USS Cairo at Vicksburg National Military Park.
